The last television show or movie you loved? Mystery Road. Aaron Pedersen holds the entire drama together by the force of his character.

• One thing on your bucket list? A bucket list seems too much like tempting fate! But sometime after COVID lifts, the South Island of New Zealand beckons.

• Best advice you have ever received and who did you get it from? A teacher once told me ‘If something’s worth doing, it’s worth doing well.’ Which would be brilliant advice if I wasn’t a perfectionist.

What has been your most memorable moment? Marrying Karen in 1995. She’s just as beautiful now as she was on our wedding day.

What’s one thing you love about your job? A common thread in most things I’ve done—as a facilitator, mediator or editor — is helping my clients achieve clarity. Clarity of thoughts, emotions and expression. When they succeed, the feeling is priceless.

Your most annoying habit? Misplacing my car keys, There are just so many places in the house to lose them.

What one thing would you like to see happen in the local area? Affordable housing solutions, to maintain our diverse community on the Range.

• Best local activity & why? The Maleny Neighbourhood Centre’s free Christmas Breakfast. It really brings the community together.

Best thing about your town (apart from the people)? Having three excellent bookshops in Maleny, with a wide range of rare and unusual titles.

• Is there a local community group you’d like to give a shout-out to? 

Speak Up Now Stop Domestic and Family Violence on the Blackall Range—an important initiative by the Combined Service Clubs of Maleny.

• Dream car: a classic VW Bug with a Zelectric conversion.
