Get your hands dirty at Yandina Community Gardens workshops
Yandina Community Gardens is gearing up to host two hands-on workshops at the Blue House, offering locals the chance to enhance their gardening skills.
On October 19th, from 9am to 11am, Rose Brown will lead a Plant Propagation workshop, where attendees can learn the art of growing new plants from cuttings, seeds, and more. It’s the perfect opportunity for anyone keen to expand their garden sustainably. Please bring gloves.
Following that, on November 16th from 9am to 11am, Rob Lawrence will guide a Tool Maintenance workshop. Participants will be taught essential techniques for keeping their gardening tools in top shape, ensuring they last for years to come.

Sunshine Coast Model Boat Club regatta
The Sunshine Coast Model Boat Club regatta will be held on Lake MacDonald Cooroy on Sunday October 27.
The theme for the day is Tug Boats And Paddle Steamers. There will also be assorted model ships, yachts etc, both static displays and sailing on the lake, all radio controlled. The time is from 8am to 12.30pm.
All visitors are most welcome to come and see what models will be on display.

Miniature trains return to Nambour on October 27
The Sunshine Coast Miniature Trains are gearing up for another public run day at their Miniature Train Park in Nambour on Sunday, 27 October 2024.
From 10am to 2.30pm, families and train enthusiasts alike are invited to enjoy rides on these meticulously crafted miniature trains.
Located at 1 Florence St, Nambour, the event is a favourite among locals, offering a unique and nostalgic experience. Visitors will be able to enjoy the fun of train rides in a park setting, with the society’s dedicated team ensuring an enjoyable day out for all.

Big Pineapple Festival returns with new attractions
The Big Pineapple Festival is set to make its much-anticipated return on Saturday, October 19, at the iconic Big Pineapple fields in Woombye. Expected to attract around 14,000 people, the festival will feature a star-studded lineup including The Amity Affliction, Bliss N Eso, Peking Duk, Tones and I, and more.
Alongside the music, festival-goers can enjoy international cuisine at the new World Eats and Beats area and watch thrilling events like the Skate Jam and the inaugural Great Australian Pineapple Toss, featuring Olympic gold medallist Stephen Bradbury.

T Birds to play at Yandina Country Music concert
Yandina welcomes guest artists the T Birds to the ACMA concert on Sunday 20th October. With songs that you know and love, and their on-stage energy, you can guarantee entertainment!
