Renae Suttie brings new school jazz to Nambour

Renowned vocalist Renae Suttie, celebrated for her dynamic scatting and backing vocals in numerous Australian and international advertisements, is set to dazzle Nambour with a jazz performance at The Presynct.

The Thursday 19 September concert features Suttie alongside the New School Jazz trio, promising an evening of rejuvenated classics from the American Songbook.

Suttie, a graduate of the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, has graced stages worldwide, performing in countries such as Japan, China, and Vanuatu.

Locally, she is a fixture at music festivals and various gigs, performing solo and with groups like The Kitty Kats and The Swing Collective. Renae’s extensive experience includes backing vocals for Australian music legends such as Daryl Braithwaite and Marcia Hines.

The upcoming show at The Jazz Sessions will highlight pieces from her album “Starlight,” a collection of jazz originals, alongside tracks from the “New School Jazz” EP. This record features a blend of beloved songs and a unique piece by pianist Marnix Van Bruggen, with contributions from Dutch musicians.

Accompanying Renae on stage are Marnix Van Bruggen on piano, Elliott Parker on bass, and Mitch Bellert on drums. The ensemble will explore new takes on jazz standards, infusing them with a contemporary edge. Tickets for this intimate performance are available online, with past shows indicating a sell-out event is likely.

• Tickets can be purchased at www.events.humanitix.com/the-jazz-sessions or at the door on the evening of the performance, subject to availability. Doors open 6pm with the show starting at 7pm.
