Palmwoods Op Shop marks second year with celebration

ST Augustine’s Anglican Op Shop at 13 Hill Street, Palmwoods, is gearing up for a special morning tea on 29 January to celebrate its second year of operation in the new premises.

The popular store has gone from strength to strength, with coordinator Anne Leach attributing its success to dedicated volunteers and the generosity of the local community.

“Our volunteers are the heart and soul of this wonderful endeavour,” Mrs Leach said. “Let’s take the opportunity to let our hair down, share some laughs, and toast to all we’ve achieved together. This marks our second Christmas in the Op Shop and what a success it has been! The move has proven to be nothing short of outstanding, with the shop continuing to grow from strength to strength-and it’s all thanks to our volunteers’ incredible efforts.”

Beyond its financial rewards, the Op Shop is also making a positive impact by extending the life of pre-loved goods and keeping them out of landfill. From clothing to household items, the store’s efforts reduce textile waste and the carbon footprint.

The morning tea will bring together volunteers and supporters for an opportunity to reflect on the past year’s achievements while looking ahead to future projects.

“We look forward to seeing what we can accomplish together in the coming year.”
