Team mates from Under 7s to A-grade

Jack O’Leary and Ryan Hargreaves both made their A-grade rugby league debuts for the Nambour Crushers on the  weekend.

The boys, pictured above, started playing footy together as 6 year olds for Nambour Junior Rugby League Club and have played through the ranks to make it all the way to the top.

In addition to Jack and Ryan two other players — Keegan McKinnon and Kodie Brown-Kiro — also made their Division 1 debuts.

In other news, Nambour Crusher players David Oakes, Kyle Shelford, Nathan Saumalu and Eva Carless have been selected to join the Sunshine Coast Falcons squads to compete in the 47th Battalion Carnival to be held in Bundaberg this weekend.

Results from Round 5 played on Saturday 17th April @ Crusher Park

• JC Hire Nambour Under 18 Crushers 12 defeated Caloundra 10

• Kellys Earthworks Division 2 Crushers 24 defeated Caloundra 16

• Maudsley Excavations Division 1 Crushers 26 defeated Caloundra 22

Telstra Shop Nambour Women Crushers had a loss in Round 3 against Caloundra 0-48 in wet and muddy conditions. We congratulate both teams as they played the feature match under lights. The Crusher Women bounced back on Saturday in the ANZAC Round 4 at Kawana. It was a gutsy effort with the team coming from behind to seal the win 26-16.

Maudsley Excavations Division 1 side was short of key players due to injury and went down to ladder leading Kawana 58-4.

There will be no local league games this weekend due to the 47th Battalion competition in Bundaberg but games will return Saturday 8th May where all four Nambour Crusher senior teams will travel to take on the Beerwah Bulldogs.
