Fall in love with local authors this Valentine’s Day
Calling all literary enthusiasts! The popular ‘Lovers of Books’ event will return to the Mapleton Library Community Centre on February 14th, 2025.
Running from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, it’s the perfect appetiser to an evening at one of the Blackall Range’s restaurants or pubs. ‘Lovers of Books’ is a special celebration of the creative talent of the Sunshine Coast and Hinterland region.
Featuring six local published authors, the evening offers a behind-the-scenes look into the journey of taking a book from inspiration to publication.
Expect an eclectic mix of genres from fiction and non-fiction to fantasy, historical, children’s stories and more.
Not just for aspiring writers, anyone curious about the world of books is welcome to learn about the trials and tribulations of storytelling and the art of getting published.
Nita Lester, president of the Centre, said,’ A team of volunteers will be on hand to ensure you have a thoroughly enjoyable time.’
The authors are available before the event, during the interval and at the end to chat and further expand their stories.
So, this St Valentine’s Day, make a date with the stories and storytellers that enrich your community all year round.
Tickets are $10 per person, including delicious finger food and a glass of wine.
