Sunshine Mitre 10 general manager Neil Hutchins is looking forward to the opening of a new flagship at Nambour on July 24th.

Sunshine Mitre 10 general manager Neil Hutchins is looking forward to the opening of a new flagship at Nambour on July 24th.

Sunshine Mitre 10 will celebrate the opening of their new flagship store at Nambour on Saturday 24th July, with Block TV star Scott Cam as well as 2020 series winners Jimmy and Tam there to celebrate, with huge specials and giveaways throughout the day.

Sunshine Mitre 10 general manager Neil Hutchins said it was exciting to see the new 13,000 square metre site opening.

The store at 980 Nambour Connection Road will employ 40 staff and offer a large variety of products to retail and trade customers.

“To celebrate we are having a huge opening day on Saturday 24th July,” Mr Hutchins said. “The store will open at 8am and we have a catalogue, being released soon, full of great specials available to celebrate.

“At 10am host of The Block’s Scott Cam, as well as 2020 series winners, Sunshine Coast locals, Jimmy and Tam, will officially cut the ribbon and open the store, and be around until 12noon to chat to fans and take photos.”

Mr Hutchins said there would of course be a huge free sausage sizzle as well as fairy floss for the kids, along with a balloon artist.

“There will also be suppliers working throughout all departments available to answer questions and give advice about people’s DIY projects and there will be giveaways throughout the day with each customer receiving a special reusable bag celebrating Sunshine Mitre 10’s 110-year history.

With 18 stores throughout Queensland, Sunshine Mitre 10 is one of the largest independently operated and owned hardware suppliers in Queensland.

“We have been steadily expanding with new sites in Bundaberg, St George, Brisbane and more over the past five years, but our new Nambour store is special, because Nambour is where the company’s 110-year history began.

“So, it is great to see this new store, which will support our retail customers as well as the increasing demand on the Sunshine Coast for trade supplies.

“Sunshine Mitre 10 already employs more than 400 staff across our network of stores, including the seven sites we operate throughout the Sunshine Coast. We are pleased to have committed to this multimillion-dollar investment on the back of a 25-year lease at this location.”

The new site includes 4,000 square metres under roof and will be one of the largest in the Sunshine Mitre 10 network with extensive retail product and trade supply through their well-managed trade drive through experience.

“This new flagship store will include all the latest brands and products and showcase the best hardware product available. The site will have everything you need to get in, get out, and get on with it. The entire project has been meticulously designed to provide the customer with the ultimate hardware shopping experience,” Mr Hutchins said.

Mr Hutchins said Sunshine Mitre 10 would continue to operate the existing Court Road store for the convenience of the local community, and work to transition the 75 years of loyal customers that exist at that site, across to the new location.
