8 Ball Aitken Band headlines at The Presynct in Nambour

Soul-blues-rockers 8 Ball Aitken Band will perform at The Presynct in Nambour on Saturday, February 1. This marks their second headline show at the venue. The evening will also feature The Groove Cartel, including Mataya (Sydney), Dean Grey and New Orleans keyboard expert Dillion James. Doors open at 7pm, with tickets available from Oztix and 8ballaitken.com for $35.

8 Ball Aitken has toured internationally for more than a decade, performing across twenty countries and earning a loyal fanbase through live shows and online videos. The singer, songwriter, slide-guitarist and producer spent nine years in Nashville, working with some of the best in the blues industry, and secured second place in the 2021 International New Orleans Cigar Box Guitar Festival before returning to Australia.

His current blues-rock album, Ice Cream Man 2, reached number one on the Australian Blues & Roots Charts in June 2023, along with four number one hits on the AMRAP Chart. The album is the highly anticipated follow-up to Ice Cream Man, which also topped the charts two years earlier.

Produced by 8 Ball Aitken in his studio in the Glass House Mountains, Ice Cream Man 2 features a talented cast of musicians including Grammy-winning drummer Tom Hambridge (Buddy Guy), saxophonist Buddy Leach (George Thorogood & The Destroyers), Sydney soul singer Taya Chani and 8 Ball’s younger brother, Dillion James Aitken, on Hammond organ and piano.
