Yandina Street Fair; the tradition returns
This year will mark the 44th Yandina Street Fair. From the events humble beginnings it has grown to regularly see 5000+ people pass through the Fair on the day.
“This is the one special day of the year where Yandina really shines and offers the opportunity to local businesses and community groups to gain exposure and connection with the Yandina and district locals and others visiting our town from the Sunshine Coast and beyond,” said Yandina Street Fair Committee Chairman, Greg Corbin.
“The whole Sunshine Coast and Hinterland community benefits from attending the Yandina Street Fair. It enlivens and enriches the local neighbourhood and schools environment, providing opportunities for culturally and linguistically diverse participation for all ages and abilities.”
The Fair is free to the public and provides a day filled with entertainment and things to see and do.
“The event fosters community spirit and a sense of support and belonging, which in turn encouraged participation and support for local business,” Mr Corbin said.
Admission to the event is at 10.30am with the Caledonian Pipes & Drums commencing at 10.40am followed by Welcome to Country on the Main Stage at 11.00am to kick off the official start of the Yandina Street Fair.
“There will be a full day of entertainment and a fantastic finale of fireworks and a spectacular special laser effect at 7.20 pm on the Main Stage,” said Mr Corbin.
“This year we have a mechanical bull, including competitions, pony rides, and there will be amusements, artists displays, entertainment across 3 stages, roving entertainers, great food and beverage stalls, art and craft stalls, a speedway car display, community stalls, street performers, a petting zoo and much much more.”
