Meet the Farmer: Good Harvest Organic Farm Woombye
Mick Dan & Kelly Burton are passionate organic farmers based at Woombye. They grow, pick, pack and deliver seasonal, organic produce “from our farm to your family”. We asked them to tell us more about their enterprise.
• What makes you get out of bed in the morning?
Good Harvest is a social enterprise, with the aim of feeding our community, and developing the local organic farming community. One of our core values is community and it is so important that we can grow local, employ local, support local, distribute local and strengthen the local community through a network of local growers who all share the same values as us.
• What is your offering and how is it different?
What makes Good Harvest unique is that we are literally picking direct from our farm, placing it in a box and delivering it straight to your door. You can also enjoy our fresh produce direct from the farm at our weekend farmers markets.
We are a seasonal, certified organic, regenerative farm, so each week we will only offer fruits and vegetables that are at their peak in season. We are grateful to be partnered with some amazing certified organic growers in the region so are able to provide a full range of seasonal, certified organic produce.
Our seasonal boxes are curated each week for our customers, and we also recognise that each family is different, so offer both the option for swaps, and fully custom orders.
• What’s the best thing about what you do?
The best thing about what we do is knowing we are feeding our community wholesome, safe and nourishing foods that support the health and vitality of kids and adults alike. Knowing that our produce is on more than 1200 plus local family’s tables at night, and in kids lunch boxes each day brings a huge smile to our faces.
• So, how can we buy it?
Good Harvest Organic Farm pick straight from the farm and deliver to your door via our carefully curated seasonal boxes and custom box orders on a subscription basis. Customers can also opt to collect their box from 2 convenient locations across the Coast. You will also find us at Kawana and Marcoola Farmer’s markets every Saturday and Noosa Farmer’s markets on Sundays. For those who can’t make a weekend market we also have a farm shop at our Coolum warehouse open Wednesday – Friday from 10am – 4pm.
