Skills on display: Woodies Open Day coming to Montville in May

Support locally made craftsmanship at the Woodies Open Day and sale, returning to Montville Sportsground on May 3 and 4 from 9am to 3pm.

The popular event showcases high-quality, practical woodcraft, all crafted by members of the Blackall Range Woodcrafters Guild (the Woodies) using locally sourced timber, milled and prepared on site.

For 28 years, the Woodies have supported the Sunshine Coast community, donating handmade woodcraft to local non-profit organisations, including the Salvos, Montville Village, Wishlist, hospitals, schools, and Mapleton Library.

Today, the Woodies boast over 200 members who craft items ranging from children’s toys and jewellery boxes to grand furniture pieces and fine art sculptures. Members have access to a range of timber, tools, and machinery, fostering a thriving community of artisans.

Come along, browse unique handcrafted pieces, and support local artisans.
