Bingo brings everyone together at Mapleton

New friendships are being forged in Mapleton thanks to bingo and all the antics associated.

Bingo is a fun way of bringing together friends to create the perfect environment of fun where everyone feels welcome.

“The caller, David has such fun that his enjoyment is contagious,” a spokesperson said. “You can play and be competitive, even if you’re just beginning.”

Participant Lyn said: “It’s a good exercise for the brain to listen for the numbers called out and to try to quickly locate them on the board. Just this simple game can sharpen memory and help think more quickly.”

David maintains a fast pace and keeps the players engaged and focused, looking for the numbers that have been called out. While this engages the hand, brain, and eyes, it also helps the onset of issues such as dementia.

A Library Centre team of Andrea, Donna, Chris and Nita help to organise this monthly fun activity for the community.

Join the next session Friday 1 December 9.30am to 11.30am. Morning tea with a home-baked Christmas theme is included. For only $12 what have you got to lose? Telephone 5445 7011 or email mapletonlibrary@amail.com.
