Business Writeup: Two Peas Bistro, Maleny

Two Peas Bistro & Café, a newly opened eatery in Maleny, is quickly gaining a reputation for its European-inspired dishes and intimate dining experience. Housed in the town’s historic old bank building on 13 Maple Street, the bistro offers a cosy setting that blends rustic charm with a modern, continental vibe.

Chef Murray Williams, co-owner of Two Peas, has spent over three decades working in renowned restaurants as well as owning many of his own, across Australia and Europe. His vast experience, including multiple placings as head chef on luxury superyachts, informs the carefully crafted menu at Two Peas, which changes daily to showcase the best seasonal and local produce.

Murray’s culinary approach is simple yet elegant, with a focus on creating traditional dishes that reflect the flavours of Europe. Two Peas describe their menu as “simple, elegant, bistro food,” with classic dishes drawing from French and Italian influences, and a nod to Murray’s grandmother’s beloved recipes.

The bistro’s atmosphere is enhanced by local art, great music, and a relaxed environment that evokes the feeling of dining in a European café and of course includes wonderful coffee which they source from a Victoria-based roastery.

“We wanted to create a place where locals and visitors could enjoy a glass of wine or a fantastic coffee with a simple yet delicious meal, much like they would in Europe.”, say the owners.

Since opening in August, Two Peas has already established a loyal customer base and have filled a much need void for dinner from Thursday to Saturday evenings as well as lunch from Friday to Sunday with bookings quickly filling up.

“We’ve had incredible feedback from the community and locals have been very supportive, telling us they’ve been waiting for a place like this in Maleny for years,” says Murray.

The bistro is also fully licensed, offering patrons a selection of wines and beverages to complement their meals and for those looking to host a special event, Two Peas also features an upstairs function space that can accommodate up to 24 guests.

• Reservations are recommended for dinner, as the popularity of this new bistro continues to grow. For more information or to book a table, visit www.twopeas.net.au.
