Come and Try Lawn Bowls at Nambour

The Come and Try sessions on Friday 28th and Sunday 30th October will be held at the Nambour Bowls Club at 76 Coronation Avenue.

The Nambour Bowls Club is hosting free ‘Come and Try’ Lawn Bowls sessions on Friday 28th October and Sunday 30th October which will provide an ideal opportunity for members of the local community to come along and give it a go. The Friday session runs from 4pm to 8pm and the Sunday session from 2pm to 5pm. A free sausage sizzle will be provided for all participants.

The Club is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year and is keen to generate greater involvement from people of all ages in the skilful, fun and entertaining game.

Founding President and former Maroochy Shire Major, Mr J.T. Lowe, is reported as once saying that he had never played sport but, when he eventually ventured on to the green to give it a go, he found a bowling bug inside his shoes and he was well and truly hooked on the game.

Many others have likewise been surprised by the experience so why not Come and Try for yourself.

The Club will provide the bowls while coaches and members will be available to help and give basic instructions. Guests are asked to wear flat sole shoes, thongs or play in bare feet on the natural grass greens.

The Come and Try sessions on Friday 28th and Sunday 30th October will be held at the Nambour Bowls Club at 76 Coronation Avenue.

For catering purposes and more information, guests are asked to telephone 5441 1076 or check the Club’s Facebook page. Social and Beginner Bowls sessions are also available each Tuesday evening from 6pm.
