Chi Hub opens doors to holistic wellness near Nambour Hospital

  • The Chi Hub Nambour is a powerful space to receive an abundance of holistic therapies, conscious classes, events and workshops for your health, wellness and spiritual journey.

Teagan Banyan: “Nambour has an amazing vibe and the Chi Hub has been incredibly well received”.

Locals will be familiar with the lovely Queenslander at 54-56 Blackall Terrace in Nambour, which has undergone a radical face lift in the past year.

For decades it was home to a medical practice and in mid-2021 it was extensively renovated by tenant Teagan Banyan, Director and Co-Founder of The Chi Hub, to accommodate a healing centre for natural and alternative modalities.

“I am so fortunate to have found this building, which turns 111 this year,” Teagan said.

“The owners of the building have been incredible to work with on this renovation. They are such wonderful people and I think they have been as excited as I am to see new life breathed into this beautiful old girl.”

During the renovation process, original Australian timber floorboards were unearthed and included sections of Red Jarrah.

“The flooring guy told me that in over 30 years, he had never seen anything like it”, Teagan said. “They give the building such incredible warmth. Everyone who walks in the front door is impacted by the feeling of the place”.

The Chi Hub Nambour is an expansion of the Chi Hub Noosa which opened in 2019 as ‘High on Chi’ and re-branded to The Chi Hub Noosa when the Nambour hub opened last August.

“I had been looking for an appropriate space to expand and then this building came up. It was incredibly synchronous,” Teagan said.

The Chi Hub has five treatment rooms and an event space which hosts unique & conscious events.

“I lived in Mooloolaba from the age of two until I was 17,” Teagan said. “I have always felt that Nambour was the centre of the Sunshine Coast, and in recent years, real shifts have taken place. Nambour has an amazing vibe and the Chi Hub has been incredibly well received. In fact, when we were finishing up the renovations and fit out, the local community pitched in to help us get ready for opening. I was blown away by their kindness and generosity.”

Community seasonal events

Teagan is planning a free Spring Community Seasonal Event for  September at the Chi Hub Nambour. This follows the inaugural Autumn event back in March and a Winter event in June.

“It was such a great way to open up the centre to new people,” Teagan said.

“Some of our practitioners offered mini-healing workshops and I made soup and cakes. After the workshops we ate, enjoyed tea and connected with each other. It was exactly what I had envisioned to bring the community together and experience healing offerings they may not have heard of before.”

Teagan is now inviting independent health and wellness practitioners and therapists to consider the Chi Hub for their practice or to hold events.
