Tai Chi Internal Arts is coming to the Sunshine Coast
An introductory Tai Chi workshop is being held on 6 September at Millwell Road Community Centre, Maroochydore from 9-3 for $30, a light lunch included.
Tai Chi Internal Arts is a non-profit, non-religious community association. The Qld group is affiliated with Western Australia, under the Principal Instructor Banyin Lee.
Tai Chi is the perfect exercise to achieve optimum health, because of the gentle meditative movements. Genuine Tai Chi is different to other exercise because it focuses on co-ordinated extension of joints and body turning rather than stretching.
Qigong forms an integral part of Tai Chi combining breath and simple movements to circulate Qi (chi) energy in the body.
In January 2021 Tai Chi was added to UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list. It is centuries old, based on Chinese martial art and is an internationally popular form of exercise. It can reduce stress, anxiety and depression, improve aerobic capacity, energy and stamina, enhance the immune system and relieve joint pain.
