Real Estate team steps up amid local housing crisis

With property prices  surging across South-East Queensland RE/MAX Property Sales Team Krausz has witnessed first-hand the struggles faced by members of the community  when it comes to securing housing.

As the median house price in Nambour has skyrocketed from $360,000 in 2017 to $520,000 today, the former sugar mill town has swiftly become a hot commodity; pricing many in the community out of the market altogether.

Data from the 2016 Australian Census shows more than 100,000 Australian’s were homeless and we expect that number has risen significantly in areas such as South-East Queensland since.

In collaboration with Thriving Families, The Nambour Community Centre provides a way forward for the most socially, culturally and economically disadvantaged and discriminated groups in our community.

“The Nambour Community Centre provides food, essential amenities and support to over 40,000 vulnerable community members each year,” said Mr Krausz. “Over the past six months, the Community Centre has been run off their feet trying to cope with the housing crisis.”

Mr Krausz’s sales team, including Megan Manly and Simon Schroder, approached the Community Centre Committee to find out how they could be of assistance.

‘We wanted to use our role in the real estate industry as an opportunity to give back and support our community’

It was clear that the biggest challenge was funding.

“We wanted to use our role in the real estate industry as an opportunity to give back and support our community,” Richard said.

“After seeing the incredible work of the Nambour Community Centre, the idea of creating an exclusive offer came to mind.

Hence, last week, Team Krausz announced they will be donating $300 from the sale of every property listed with them from October 2021 through to March 2022.

“It’s so easy to forget how lucky we are to have a roof over our head,” said Richard.

“Our team is thankful that we’re in the position to give back to our community and we’re excited about what we will achieve over the next 6 months.

“The Community Centre does an absolutely incredible job helping those in need, so we know the funds we donate will have a substantial impact on the organisation and our community,” said Megan.
