Recycle your containers and support RangeCare services
RangeCare has embraced sustainability in a meaningful way, joining Queensland’s popular Containers for Change program to turn recycled waste into valuable support for local community members.
The innovative recycling initiative enables locals to easily contribute by dropping off eligible containers at RangeCare’s dedicated collection points across the region. Locations include 36 Doolan Street in Nambour, 360-362 Flaxton Drive in Flaxton and 17B Bean Street in Maleny.
Every eligible container recycled directly helps RangeCare clients continue to live independently in their own homes, providing funds for critical services such as home assistance, social support, and subsidised home maintenance.
Accepted recyclable materials include most plastic drink containers, aluminium cans, glass bottles, liquid paperboard cartons, and even wine and spirit bottles. Residents are reminded, however, that plastic milk cartons and cordial bottles cannot be recycled through this scheme.
RangeCare Business Development Manager Jess Garey encouraged the community to embrace the recycling initiative, noting that every container counted.
“This initiative not only benefits our environment but directly impacts the quality of life of local community members who rely on RangeCare’s services,” she said.
Since 1986, RangeCare has been providing support to more than 2000 clients, employing 150 local team members and engaging 180 dedicated volunteers throughout the Blackall Range, Nambour and Gympie.
Community members keen to contribute can collect approved containers at home or work and drop them at any of the designated locations.
“We’re excited to see the community rally behind Containers for Change and help us create a sustainable future for both our environment and our clients,” Ms Garey said.
