Palmwoods Tennis Club celebrates court upgrades with official opening

Palmwoods Tennis Club is serving up success with the recent completion of major upgrades to its tennis courts, funded through an $81,814 grant from Round One of the Minor Infrastructure Program. The courts, originally resurfaced in 2008, had deteriorated over time, with worn synthetic grass, tears, and uneven patches creating safety concerns.

Now, after extensive resurfacing, the courts have been restored to a smooth, safe playing surface that meets all facility standards. Despite challenges from wet weather, the project was completed earlier this year, and the club is now ready to get back into full swing.

At the official opening of the courts, Member for Nicklin Rob Skelton praised the investment: “The $82,000 investment from the Miles government, alongside a contribution from Heritage Bank Palmwoods, will ensure the club has room to grow into the future.” He also thanked the club president and Tennis Queensland for their support at the opening event.

With these upgrades, Palmwoods Tennis Club is poised to continue growing its membership and fostering a thriving tennis community.
