Palmwoods workshops to feature renowned chef, artist

You can learn to BBQ with renowned professional chef Matt Golinski.

Learn Indigenous Dot Art with world renowned artist Paul Calcott.

Palmwoods QCWA is proud to present two unique workshops in April at the quaint CWA hall in Main Street.

You can learn to BBQ with renowned professional chef Matt Golinski or learn Indigenous Dot Art skills with acclaimed artist Paul Calcott.

Palmwoods QCWA President, Georgea Rule said the Branch was delighted to host both events.

“In the times we are experiencing, post COVID, there is a need to find the ‘richness’ of life again and re-connect with our community,” she said.

“By providing these opportunities we are endeavouring to restore the balance and show how these sorts of activities enrich our lives. None of this though, would be possible if it weren’t for funding from a Sunshine Coast Council Community Development Grant. The Council subsidises  these workshops to keep the cost for participants to a minimum. It is very exciting that the QCWA Palmwoods can be a part of this opportunity.”

How to Gourmet BBQ with Matt Golinsky

On Sunday April 2  Matt will be ably assisted by Graeme Rose in presenting a Gourmet BBQ. Matt has a passion for creating cuisine with fresh, seasonal and local ingredients. This is a ‘men only’ event catering for 20 participants to enjoy good company, conversations, and a delicious meal at the end of the workshop. Dessert is included courtesy of the Palmwoods QCWA.

Indigenous Dot Art with Paul Calcott

On Saturday April 15 you can learn Indigenous Dot Art with Paul. “This is a family friendly event,” said Georgea. “Children can participate if they old enough to paint with the supervision of a guardian.”

Paul has coordinated many local and international exhibitions showcasing artwork by First Nations People with a disability.

• If you are interested in attending either event, please refer to the Palmwoods CWA Facebook page. The cost is $10.00pp for each event. The events are open to the public, although it is essential to book, as places are limited. For Bookings, please send your Expressions of Interest to palmwoodscwa@gmail.com
