Construction has begun on a new Sunshine Coast hinterland over-50s lifestyle resort, GemLife Palmwoods, with earthworks under way.

When completed, the resort will feature about 150 homes, a country club, an outdoor pool and recreational area, and a boardwalk along Paynter Creek which flanks one side of the estate.

Director & CEO of GemLife Adrian Puljich said the future resort was already attracting strong interest, particularly amongst Sunshine Coast homeowners ready to downsize from larger properties and take up a low-maintenance lifestyle.

“Palmwoods is the quintessential hinterland town surrounded by natural beauty with a charming rural feel yet is well-located to all that the famously vibrant Sunshine Coast has to offer,” he said.

“The GemLife team is excited to see the project kick-off and can’t wait to be part of the local community.”

A GemLife Palmwoods sales office opened last month on the main street of Palmwoods at 18-20 Margaret Street.

In addition to high-quality homes, the resort’s luxurious country club will accommodate first- class facilities including a gym, ten-pin bowling alley, magnesium-therapy indoor pool and spa, cinema, a bar and coffee lounge. A separate outdoor recreation precinct will have a pool, complete with sundeck, barbecue, and dining area.

• The resort’s first homes are expected to be move-in-ready by late 2021. GemLife Palmwoods is located at 38 Landershute Road.
