New Nambour cafe owners cater to people affected by food allergies

People affected by food allergies will know how good it feels to easily order a meal or find somewhere to enjoy a sweet treat with coffee.

A new café and cake supplier in Nambour’s CBD called Arden Dawn will help cater for those food allergies and special dietary requirements.

Arden Dawn owner and long-term local Kirstie Martin said she understood the importance of options when it comes to coffee and cakes.

“We have small cakes that are either vegan, gluten free, low FODMAP or all the above, and we’ll be doing large cakes too which people can order for birthdays and special events,” Ms Martin said.

“No one should have to miss out, so it’s always a good feeling to be able to provide a product that everyone can enjoy and that looks special too.

“We also have a large range of alternative milks for coffee.”

Kirstie and Lance are enjoying getting to know their new customers and other business owners. “Nambour has some great little businesses with lots of community support and we’re proud to be opening here. It has been lovely to have people dropping in to say hello as we were setting up. “

“This is a great spot for us – my husband Lance and I have both lived in Nambour and nearby for over 25 years.

“We both went to Nambour High School and now we own a house here with our two young daughters.”

Arden Dawn Cafe loves supporting local, and has products for sale from local makers including soy ecofriendly candles, hand sewn children’s clothing and more.

You can find Arden Dawn on the corner of Currie Street and Howard Street. It is open 7.30am-2pm, Tuesday–Friday and 7.30am-1pm Saturday.
