Experience the vibrant Nambour street fair this weekend

Lazy Guns band members flanking Greg Rogerson include Richard Smith, Ryan Smith, Bella Videroni and Jack Smith.

Nambour’s combined Namba Curated Plate Event and Tramfest promises to be an even bigger spectacle this year, transforming Mill Street into a vibrant hub of food, music, and entertainment this Saturday (July 27).

With organisers aiming to surpass last year’s attendance, the event will feature a diverse array of food vendors, roving performers, and sensational live bands, making it a must-visit celebration for the hinterland and beyond.

“An estimated 5000 people attended last year’s combined event, and that is the number we are chasing, and would like to surpass this year,” said TramCo Chairman Greg Rogerson.

“Mill Street will again be closed off and there will be about 20 food trucks serving dishes from around the world and the entire Sunshine Coast community and intra- and inter-State visitors are warmly welcomed”.

“We have some talented and popular local bands playing, such as Duende, The Late Star, Nuffin, Butta, Lazy Guns and Winchester Revival, who will wow the crowd,” Mr Rogerson said.

“These bands have a tremendous local following and have all been absolutely wonderful to deal with. There will also be roving, family-friendly entertainment for everyone to enjoy.”

In collaboration with Sunshine Coast Council and the Curated Plate Culinary Festival, the theme for this year’s festival is ‘Taste your way around the world’.

Your Mates Brewing Co., which started in the basement of Nambour’s Commercial Hotel, will be supplying all the beer for the TNTCo’s ‘Cane Bin Bar’. “Your Mates Brewing is a fantastic Nambour success story, and we are absolutely thrilled to have them on board,” he said.

“Sunshine Coast Council has contributed funding in its quest to invigorate the hinterland and Nambour businesses and  community in general, and this has enabled us to host free, world-class community events in Nambour. On behalf of TramCo and the community, I want to thank Council for their generous and continued support.”

“On the green space, at the rear of the Tram Terminus, there will be handcrafted wares such as jewellery, clothing and ‘knick-knacks’ to delve into and purchase.”

Club Namba Food Specials

Club Namba will also be involved and manager Shayne Daniel has promised that there will be some fantastic food specials and live music for patrons to enjoy.

“We are excited to be a part of the event, and our talented chef Wayd Bailey will be whipping up some delicious specials for people to enjoy,  to complement the international food fair on offer on the street,” he said.

Mr Rogerson was also keen to acknowledge the ongoing support of local businesses who have made such an important contribution to this, and the many prior events TNTCo has hosted.

“Rod and Andie Fishwick from ASV Sound and Lighting, Alan Marr from Marr’s Electrical, Leon and Deb Bishop from Southern Cross Sheds and Mike and Bill Clayton from Clayton’s Towing are all exceptional people and continue to keep on giving to TNTCo, Nambour and the entire hinterland community,”  he said.

“They have all been with us since day one of the Nambour Tram Project and I know that their perception is that they’re only giving back to the community that continues to patronise them.”

• The event will commence at noon, with music running from 2pm-9pm on Saturday, July 27. Entry is free, but please register in advance at: Humanitix.com/namba-street-fair

Club Namba is raring to go: Head Chef/Director Wayd Baley, Assistant Manager Jessa Katz and General Manager/Director Shayne Daniel.
