Muscle on the Mountain re-booted

After an extremely wet month in June, the much anticipated Muscle on the Mountain has been rescheduled to take place at the Maleny Showgrounds on Sunday, September 8.

“We were so disappointed to have to postpone the event earlier in the year,” said Apex Maleny spokesman, Sam Price.

“It is such a popular event and a terrific fundraiser for so many worthy organisations both locally and at a national level. At the moment we are having brilliant Spring weather, so we hope to see a huge turn out on the day.”

This is the 11th year of Muscle on the Mountain, hosted by the Apex Club of Maleny and the Maleny Show Society.

“The show has grown in size each year,” Sam said.

“Last year we had 2,900 visitors and 570 vehicles on display, which we managed to organise after a pandemic hiatus. It was a fantastic day and it allowed us to raise funds for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, as well as many other local charities and organisations,” he said.

“The event is put together one hundred percent by volunteers and every cent raised goes to a range of worthy causes.”

This year, visitors can expect to see cars, trucks, utes, motorbikes, tractors and farm vehicles of all vintages, in mint condition and on display.

There will be food and coffee available, and entertainment for the kids, as well as plenty of ‘Muscle’ merchandise available for purchase.

“There is pretty much something for everyone,” said Sam.

The event starts at 7am but cars will start lining up at daybreak, and the event finishes at 1pm. Cost of entry is $5 cash per person, at the gate.
