Mooloolah has seen a surge of new residents, and the local IGA is set to undergo a makeover to cater for the increased demand.

Twelve months on from opening their sixth supermarket at Forest Glen, White’s IGA Co-Founders Roz and Michael White have plans to increase the floor area of the Mooloolah store to 1522m2 (an addition of 611m2) and create parking space for 70 more cars.

Roz White said she was also looking forward to increasing their product offering.

“We are delighted that this renovation to our beautiful Mooloolah store will allow us to expand the range of products we can offer to the Mooloolah community.

“It is important to both Michael and I, that we can provide greater choice and a variety of shopping options in an upgraded and modernised store.

“As always, we will have a key focus on our locavore suppliers and broaden our range of everyday goods at great prices,” Roz said.

White’s Group will undertake a full interior and exterior refurbishment of the building to ensure the hinterland character of Mooloolah is preserved.

Development Manager for Primo Property, Christopher Ferraro said his company was delighted to be working on this project with the White’s Group.

“While the construction phase of the project will be a significant driver of local employment, the long-term operation of this store ensures there will be jobs for locals into the future and that is important.

“Doing what we can to keep everything local is a key driver for us. We will work hard to ensure all trades working on the project are from the Sunshine Coast region and this includes everything from block layers, concreters, roofers, air conditioning services, steel fabrication to plumbers. It really is a local project, for the local people, by the local people, and that makes us incredibly proud,” Chris said.

The project has already commenced and is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
