Montville School set to celebrate 125th year with lavish high tea

Montville State School was founded in 1896 and will celebrate its 125th birthday at its newly renovated Razorback House with a high tea tomorrow (September 16) from 11am.  

A massive $7000 of prizes from local businesses will be up for grabs at the inaugural high tea which will be a significant fundraisers for the school.

Organisers are promoting a ‘cocktail’ dress code encouraging ladies to don their best hats and fascinators. 

The event is also a celebration of the recent restoration of old school house, Razorback House, which is the oldest building in Montville. 

A time capsule will be buried by students. “Apparently there are three other time capsules buried at the school, but they can’t be found,” a spokesperson said. “This one will be well marked!”

A 125 year history book will be on display as well as historic photos and displays concerning school and community history.

Commemorative Montville State School mugs by a local potter will be for sale. 

With the introduction of the Prep year in 2006 Montville State School offers quality education for Prep to Year 6 for about 100 students.
