Bumbag, phone found by divers in search for missing Nambour man

Nate Preston is missing.

Sunshine Coast detectives on Monday released images of items located as part of the investigation into the disappearance of Nambour man, Nate Preston.

The 20-year-old was last seen in the Mooloolaba area at approximately midnight on Sunday, May 22.

Nate was reported missing on Tuesday May 24 as he had made no contact with friends or family.

Investigations led dive squad officers to conduct a thorough search of Mooloolaba canals near Brisbane Road and River Esplanade Mooloolaba, where a phone and bumbag believed to be Nate’s were located.

The dive squad completed the search between May 26 and May 27 with no other items of interest located. Investigations are ongoing.

Detectives appeal to anyone who was near Brisbane Road and River Esplanade Mooloolaba on the evening of Saturday May 21 or the following morning, who may have relevant information, CCTV or dashcam footage in the area at the time to contact police.
