Rain can’t dampen Palmwoods’ ‘Little Village Christmas’ spirit

Elke McConnell from Eyes Up Events with Hannah and Eliza Briggs of Palmwoods.

Despite a steady drizzle, Palmwoods families turned out in force at the Palmwoods State School on 14 December for the “A Little Village Christmas” event.

Sponsored by the Heritage Community Branch Palmwoods and the Palmwoods State School P&C, the free celebration still managed to spread festive cheer. Children enjoyed face painting, hair braiding, temporary tattoos, and even pony rides, while the petting zoo delighted animal lovers. Santa’s arrival with the Palmwoods Rural Fire Brigade drew big smiles, and free fairy floss, popcorn, and slushies kept everyone happy. Live entertainment continued from 3pm, culminating in a hearty carol sing-along before the family Christmas movie screening.
