Guerilla Gardening brings fun and colour to Expo

Over the coming weeks, Nambour residents are being encouraged to look out for the ‘guerilla gardening’ that will be taking place in the lead up to the Queensland Garden Expo.

Business owners around town will be ‘planting’ colourful hand crafted daisies in and around their premises to celebrate the event.

“The daisies are fabulous, they were decorated at last year’s Expo,” said Expo ambassador, Martin Duncan.

“We are looking forward to seeing them gracing the garden beds and pots around CBD businesses over the coming weeks,” he said.

“We’ve got some of the nurseries from the Garden Expo doing living plant displays including a large display at the Nambour RSL.

“This year is the 40th year of the Queensland Garden Expo and instead of the traditional 3 days, it will be held over 4 days, and will bring thousands of visitors to Nambour.”

Nambour Chamber of Commerce President, Mark Bray, added “the Expo represents a fantastic opportunity for the business community to attract new customers, especially the retail and hospitality venues.

“The guerilla gardening initiative is a great way for local business owners to get involved and bring some colour and fun to the CBD streets.”

• The Expo will take place at the Nambour Showgrounds from Thursday the 4th to Sunday the 7th of July. You can purchase your tickets at www.qldgardenexpo.com.au
