Hang on, help is on its way ... Look who's coming to Maleny

Glenn Shorrock

The inaugural Maleny Long Lunch, coming to the Maleny Showgrounds Pavillion this Sunday (October 31), will feature Glenn Shorrock.

With a career that spans five decades, Glenn’s catalogue of hits include lead vocals for Twilights, Axiom and The Little River Band, as well as a stellar solo career.

Patrons can expect to hear some of Glenn’s biggest hits from his career including Help Is On Its way, Cool Change, Little Ray of Sunshine and many more.

The Maleny Long Lunch will donate profits from the bar on the day to the Wishlist Centre, which will be Australia's first facility to offer patient accommodation, primary healthcare and complementary therapies under one roof.

The Long Lunch is the brainchild of the guys from Almost The Greatest Events: Ian ‘Dicko’ Dickson, Dave Wilkins & Tony Aitken. Born out of lockdown fever, the guys joined forces to create a regular event that incorporated some of the great things in life — great music, fabulous food and brilliant beers, wines and spirits. It was also important to bring on board a worthy local charity and give back to the community.

“We are thrilled to present Glenn Shorrock as special guest artist at our first Maleny Long Lunch,” said Dicko. “We hope this event becomes a regular event on the Sunshine Coast calendar and encourage all Queenslanders to come along and enjoy the best of Australian talent, food and wines from across Australia.  It also brings great joy to us as a team to be able to support Wishlist and the great work they do on the Coast.”

Captain J Beard and his team from Beauty & The Beard will be serving up a mouth-watering feast, complimented by drinks, purchased over the bar and supplied by Bird In Hand wineries and beers by Your Mates Brewery.

Woombye’s Sunshine and Sons will have an array of spectacular gin cocktails and non alcoholic options that can also be purchased over the bar.  The afternoon’s entertainment will kick off with rising singer / songwriter sensation Taylor Moss.

 • The Maleny Long Lunch is on Sunday October 31 at The Pavilion, Maleny Showgrounds. Cost is $130 per ticket +  booking fee from  malenylonglunch.com or  showticks.com.
