Nambour to shine on Aussie TV: Dan Anstey bringing Today Show glamour to hometown reunion
Nambour is gearing up for a star-studded weekend as the "IAmNambour" initiative brings Weekend Today Weather host, Dan Anstey, back to his hometown on September 2 and 3. The glitz of the Today Show cameras and lights will promote all things Nambour and locals will get a chance to be a part of the action.
“We are just finalising things at the moment, but locals will be able to come down, be a part of the show,” said organiser, IAmNambour ambassador and local businesswoman Rhonda Billett. “People who follow the show would be aware that Dan is extremely Nambour proud, he mentions his hometown of Nambour very frequently to the nation and now it is time for him to come home and have a whole lot of fun in the Nambour CBD with us throwing him his very own ‘Homecoming Party’.”
Saturday, September 2, will see a big free community BBQ hosted by the Nambour Chamber of Commerce and Nambour Tram Co alongside free face painting for kids, vintage cars from Nambour Antique Car Club and various, some very special guest appearances, other lively morning activities including a local competition, with locally-donated prizes for a Best Weekend Today Show Sign competition. The festivities continue on September 3 with a Weekend Today Father's Day Special at Sixty6 Acres Farm Stay.
While space for the Sunday event is limited due to the private location, locals can catch the special on Channel 9 from 7am til 10am.
