Dental practice takes DIY approach to local healthcare SEO

Blackall Terrace Dental, an independent dentist in Nambour, is taking an innovative approach to building the local healthcare sector by launching a home-grown strategy to boost business visibility online.

Practice Manager Joseph Reiner told a recent Nambour Chamber of Commerce gathering at Mill Street Kitchen and Pantry that instead of outsourcing digital marketing, he’s personally spearheading an initiative designed to lift Google rankings for all local healthcare providers.

“We get endless cold calls from marketing companies promising better online visibility, but I thought, ‘We can do some of this ourselves, and help other local businesses at the same time’,” Mr Reiner said.

He explained the new collaboration involved showcasing other healthcare businesses across Nambour and surround - including logos, bios, and links back to their own websites and social media pages to help boost SEO. Mr. Reiner invited businesses at the Nambour Chamber of Commerce and other local healthcare businesses to come forward to get involved in the initiative early on.

"It's a partnership model designed to strengthen everyone's online presence," he said.

Since taking ownership from Maven Dental four years ago, owner and practice principal Dr Joseph Hollywood BDS has transformed the clinic, significantly growing patient numbers and expanding services to include conscious sedation, implant restorations, and full-mouth rehabilitations.

"We've had fantastic growth over those four years, driven largely by patient referrals," Mr Reiner said. "It's meant hiring more staff and continually improving what we offer."

He urged locals and business operators alike not to delay essential health appointments, emphasising the long-term benefits of early dental care.

“Life gets busy, but setting time aside now usually saves money and stress down the track,” he said.
