Bang Bang Burlesque Show coming to Nambour’s Presynct

Singer, Imogen Outridge (left) and Presynct owner, Rusty Nyman are looking forward to the August 9 event.

Retro Rocks Nambour and The Presynct are proud to present *Bang Bang Burlesque*, a retro, night of vintage-style vaudeville entertainment.

“This isn’t a strip show”, said Retro Rocks Nambour coordinator, Kathleen Ashworth, “although it certainly is cheeky - in every sense of the word!

“We’ve put together an impressive group of performers who will tease, delight and entertain you in the gorgeous, intimate venue of the Presynct. So good. It’s going to be such a fun night!”

*Bang Bang Burlesque* will feature accomplished Brisbane burlesque artist Scarlet Tinkabelle, whose honours include Miss Illustrated Pinup Australia 2013; Runner Up Miss Burlesque Qld 2019; and headlining The Australian Burlesque Festival 2022.

Also performing will be the stunning Sunshine Coast showgirls from Burlesque L’Amour, the only adults-only dance academy on the coast.

As well as teaching classes, Burlesque L’ Amour have been providing professional performers to events across the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Gladstone and even Adelaide for over 8 years.

Making some mid-century melodies new, and giving a newer song an old twist, will be sensational new talent, Imogen Outridge.

And keeping everyone informed and laughing will be the Master of Wit and Ceremonies, actor and comedian Shaun Bennett.

“Everyone is encouraged to dress up and have fun – frocks, feathers, whatever takes your fancy - there may even be an invitation to participate,” she said.

*Bang Bang Burlesque* was originally going to be part of the annual Retro Rocks Nambour festival, but with their main venue and sponsor having to close unexpectedly and a change of management likely, the festival had to be cancelled. “Fortunately,” said Kathleen, “thanks to Rusty and the Presynct, we’re excited to be able to go ahead with this one. If we’re only having one event, it’s good to get some bang for our buck!”

• *Bang Bang Burlesque* is at the Presynct, 15 Ann St, Nambour from 7pm on Friday, 9th August 2024. Tickets $40 via events.humanitix.com/bang-bang-burlesque or $50 at the door.
