The ‘Share the Dignity’ August Dignity Drive campaign ended late last month and thanks to the generosity of the Maleny Community, hundreds of sanitary items were donated for women in need across the coast.

“The gentlemen of the Maleny Apex Club donated $500 to the Dignity Drive, which was an amazing effort,” said Maleny & Hinterland Real Estate’s Catherine Millett.

Catherine and all the staff at Woolworths Maleny, numerous community groups and individuals have been part of the effort to raise both awareness of the campaign, and collect products for local women.

“Last Saturday Apex President Boyd Keir and PR Officer Sam Price and I went to Woolworths and did all the shopping and Store Manager Darren Rusk and team member Courtney Stockhill (who has been personally donating every week of the campaign) were on hand to say thank you.”

“Apex Club members were really happy to support this cause as we just loved the enthusiasm and passion behind it. As a club, we are continually looking for ways to help and serve our community,” said Mr Keir.

“The staff at Maleny State Primary School were encouraged by Teacher Aide, Jenni Powell, to donate to the cause, and last week she presented me with a box full of items,” said Catherine.

“Jenni had created a gorgeous donation box and spread the word amongst her colleagues about the drive and how it helps so many women.

“I also had people coming into our office generously donating and really wanting to help the Drive and women in need across the Coast.

“We are still in the throes of completing the final pick up and count,  but it is safe to say I have collected hundreds of items from the amazing Maleny community to assist those in need and it’s a big thank you to everyone involved.”
