Community leader Diana Bryce honoured as Zonta's Woman of Achievement 2024

The Zonta Club of Blackall Range has announced Diana Bryce as their Woman of Achievement for 2024, a tribute to decades of dedicated service across various community sectors in Maleny.

The accolade was bestowed during a Dusk on the Deck event at the Maleny Community Centre, marking International Women's Day.

Diana's commitment to the Maleny Hospital Auxiliary, where she has been an instrumental figure for nearly 30 years, exemplifies her dedication to healthcare and community welfare.

"Diana has shown an incredible level of dedication and work ethic, becoming a Life Member and serving as President multiple times," said Zonta Club President Margy Henderson.

In addition to her healthcare efforts, Diana has worked to preserve local history through her work with the Maleny Historical Society and as Curator of Bryce Cottage.

Diana's artistic passion shines through her involvement with the Maleny Art and Craft Group, where her quilting talents have contributed to the community's artistic landscape.

“Diana's active participation in the Craft Group and her leadership in organizing quilt shows and retreats highlight her commitment to fostering creativity and community spirit," said Margy.

Dedicated to Women’s initiatives

The Zonta Club of Blackall Range, under President Henderson's leadership, remains dedicated to supporting women's initiatives both locally and globally.

Margy articulated the club's mission: "Zonta International is committed to making a practical difference in the lives of women and girls by improving their status globally, nationally, and locally," she said.

The Woman of Achievement award recognized individuals like Diana Bryce who embodied the Zonta ethos through their service and leadership.

"Diana Bryce's extensive work across healthcare, historical preservation, and the arts reflects the profound impact one individual can have on their community. She is a true embodiment of the Zonta spirit of service and advocacy."

The Zonta Club's efforts in fundraising and volunteerism have facilitated significant contributions to local women's refuges, educational scholarships, and international projects.

"Through our collective efforts and the generosity of our members and the community, we continue to support initiatives that empower women and girls," Margy said.

“This award is held in high esteem, and we are very grateful that, last year, we recognised the generosity and hard work of Gail Denver, before her sad passing.”
