QCWA crafts big Wishlist donation

They do it to help ease the pain and anxiety of patients at local hospitals.

Throughout 2023 the ladies from Nambour and North Coast Division QCWA have knitted, crocheted and sewed a range of comforting gifts. That work will culminate tomorrow (Thursday February 8) with what has become an annual donation to Wishlist.

Wishlist Sunshine Coast Health Foundation collects the items for patients experiencing a health crisis and distributes them across Caloundra, Maleny, Nambour, Sunshine Coast University and Gympie hospitals.

"It has been an ongoing project with the QCWA members for three years doing workshops in our community," said QCWA Nambour North Coast Division Vice-President Sharon Tilly. “On Thursday we will have made a total donation of 5433 handmade crafty items to help the needy patients, families and children at the five local hospitals.

“We will have a guest speaker from Wishlist to speak to the members.

“I am so delighted to be involved with this wonderful non-profit organisation.”

• The handover to Wishlist takes place at at QCWA Division’s meeting  this Thursday at Yandina Hall at 9.30am.
