Yandina Bowls Club’s Memorial Day raises $1600 for Bloomhill

Yandina Bowls Club Chairman Leon Granzien & Secretary Alex Blake with Bloomhill Operations Manager Courtney Black, and Fundraising Lead Tessa Bibbles, celebrate the club’s $1600 donation.

The Yandina Bowls Club has again held its annual memorial bowls day to raise funds for Bloomhill Cancer Care and by so doing celebrate the lives of members who have passed, especially those who suffered from cancer. The Club took great pride in being able to provide to Bloomhill a cheque for $1600.

“This is now our third year running this event”, said Chairman Leon Granzien.

“Through the interest and generosity of our members, and fortunately having a small group of New Zealand bowlers from the Otematata Bowling Club who were only too happy to participate, we have been able to increase our contribution to Bloomhill from $600 in the first year to $1600 this year”, he said

Bloomhill Fundraising Lead Tessa Biddles thanked the Club for its kindness, for helping those impacted with cancer in the community.

“We are so grateful to Yandina Bowls Club for raising awareness funds for Bloomhill Cancer Care”, Tessa said.

“Your generous donation of $1600 will help approximately 20 newly diagnosed clients with their first treatment at Bloomhill when they see our specialist oncology nurses”, she added.
