Woombye School of Arts Hall committee calling for a new secretary

Woombye School of Arts

THE Woombye Hall has been an integral part of the town for more than 130 years hosting celebrations, classes and gatherings for numerous local groups.

A small but dedicated voluntary committee manage the hall and their long-time secretary Julie Cobham is retiring so the hall needs someone to take on the secretary position.

Woombye School of Arts Hall president, Kerry Brown said Julie has served on the hall committee for the last six years. “We will miss her hard work and dedication,” she said. “The hall is Woombye’s best asset. We estimate it brings in more than 1000 people a week to the town for classes and all sorts of activities. It is important we find someone to take her place.”

The committee meets on the last Tuesday of every month for around half an hour. The position is voluntary and takes no more than four hours a month to complete tasks.
