I think Mrs Charlotte Kuskopf, who started Woombye Community Library way back in 1898 would be both astonished and grateful to see her book sharing legacy continue to flourish well into the 21st century.

Pictured are just some of our Woombye library team members before our recent book sale, which was a great success!  Thank you to our loyal hinterland community for your amazing support.

December 5 is celebrated worldwide as International Volunteer Day – a day to pay tribute to all those who make good things happen in their communities, whether it be by coaching kids’ sport, helping to feed hungry families or reaching out to others to share a love of reading.

There is a common factor shared by all those who work in volunteer roles around the world, and that is the desire to see beyond our own front door and to step out and then step up.

It’s not that hard once you take that first step, and beware – volunteering can become a lifelong habit!

A big thank you to volunteers everywhere for everything you do.
