Dentist specialises in surgery, without the pain of the past

Business Writeup: Woombye Dental

Dr Lewis says dental techniques and practices have become far more sophisticated over the years, especially when it comes to pain management.

After spending 12 months in a busy dental practice in Hervey Bay Woombye Dental’s Dr Lewis Fang moved to Woombye to join the team and be closer to his family.

“Woombye is a great place to live and work and we have wonderful patients at our practice,” said Dr Lewis who completed his Graduate Diploma of Dentistry at Griffith University.

Although Dr Lewis has experience and provides excellent care across all areas of dentistry, he particularly enjoys the more technical aspects of his profession, including oral surgery and root canal treatments.

“This is a special interest of mine and I often find that other dentists refer their patients to me for root canal work,” Dr Lewis said.

“I also do quite a lot of extractions and emergency work where my patients are in a lot of pain. It is so important to regularly see a dentist and nip any potential problems in the bud before they become bigger and cause serious problems.”

Many people, particularly of the older generations, are anxious about dental visits but as Dr Lewis explained, dental techniques and practices have become far more sophisticated over the years, especially when it comes to pain management.

“In the end, having gentle hands is incredibly important,” he explained.

“If you approach your patients gently and respectfully, they are more inclined to relax. These days, dentists understand that it is imperative for our patients’ comfort that we are very gentle.

“That is one of the aspects of working at Woombye Dental that I really enjoy; working alongside like minded professionals. Everything about our clinic has been designed to put our patients of all ages at ease, and to deliver them the best care and dental health management.”

Woombye Dental is at 31 Blackall St, Woombye. Phone 5442 2136.
