Woombye Bowls Club hosts successful Fiesta Fours

The annual Fiesta Fours event at Woombye Bowls Club recently was a very successful day with 96 bowlers from all over the Coast participating.

“We received many favourable comments from visiting bowlers about our great club, especially our well-groomed greens, plentiful food and hospitality,” said club spokesperson Pam Cranney.

“Many thanks to our local Woombye businesses who supported us with donations of prizemoney and goods.”

Sponsors included: Woombye's Bendigo Bank, our major sponsor; Century 21; Rural and Plumbing Supplies and 4CP Printing.

Overall winners with two wins +33 was the team of Faye Ford, Ellie Josephsen, Rita Hedges and Brenda Muntz, pictured with Bendigo Bank reps. Hayley Saunders and Jill Kuramoto, and Fiesta organiser Pam Cranney.

Runners-up with 2 wins +29 were Linda Milne, Jane Mantle, Jan Sullivan and Angela Johnstone.

Hopefully, many will return for future events like our upcoming monthly Legends afternoon on Sunday 25 August where we have good prizemoney and Treats for Touchers.

We are always looking for new bowlers and have coaching each Friday from 10am, or other times by arrangement; and social bowls Wednesday mornings from 9-11am, followed by morning tea.

So, come along and give it a go! Phone our club after 10am on 5294 5245 for more details.
