WCBA wishes president Deb Kimber safe travels

New WCBA President Grant Palethorpe farewells Debbie Kimber.

The Woombye Community and Business Association bid farewell to its former President Debbie Kimber at its June meeting.

Debbie is embarking on a road trip around the Southern states of Australia with her husband Mark.

The committee thanked Debbie for the role she has played in rebuilding the membership of the Association, the success in securing several grants and her pragmatic approach to local issues.

“On behalf of the members the committee thanks Debbie, and we wish you and Mark safe travels,” said new President Grant Palethorpe.

On a sad note, the committee and members of the WCBA passed on their condolences to Kerry Brown and her family on the loss of her husband Greg. Kerry has a long association with Woombye being a past WCBA committee member, President of the School of Arts and former owner of the Sunshine Valley Gazette.

In happier news, the committee congratulated Sarah and Nathan Major on the birth of their first child. Baby Samual Major was born 3pm June 12th, weighing 3.5kg.

The WCBA also welcomed new member Caroline Cavanagh, a Solicitor specialising in Estate Administration.

The WCBA was to meet last night Tuesday July 26.
