Vietnomnom opens takeaway shop on back of food van success

After a year and a half of cooking up delicious, authentic Vietnamese food from their food van, sisters Hien and Hoai Phan have expanded their enterprise into a venue in Coronation Avenue, Nambour.

“We first started Vietnomnom in November 2020,” Hien said. “We were selling our food at markets from Noosa to Caloundra and catering private events. We actually got very busy, very quickly.

“So then we decided it was time to find a great location to operate from and as we both live in Nambour and it is such a great community, it seemed like the perfect place for Vietnomnom to expand.”

The sisters have created a range of mouthwatering food that embodies the flavour and spirit of Vietnamese cuisine.

“We both just really love food, especially Vietnamese food, and we are heavily influenced by our mother’s cooking,” Hien said. “It is awesome that we get to share these recipes with people and that they love them as much as we do”.

Hien and Hoai use fresh, fragrant and nourishing ingredients and all of the elements, from slow cooked broths and stocks, to mayonnaise, are made in house, from scratch.

“This is the real secret to the flavour I think,” said Hien. “The quality of the food is so important. And because of the fresh nature of Vietnamese food, it is not only tasty, but a really healthy choice as well. So far, everyone’s favourite seems to be our rice paper rolls. They are so light and tasty. We are very proud of them.

“Our motto is ‘let us do the cooking’,” Hien laughed. “It is even better if the food is healthy!”.
