Tango Enigmático Brings the Soul of Tango to hinterland
South East Queensland-based trio Tango Enigmático is set to captivate hinterland audiences with their vibrant blend of Argentinian tango music this November. From 14 to 17 November, the trio will bring their passionate melodies to venues in Maleny, Pomona, Coolum Beach, and Eudlo.
Featuring Chloe Ann Williamson (double bass), Flora Wong (violin), and Cara Tran (piano), Tango Enigmático is known for their fusion of classic tango rhythms with contemporary compositions. The trio’s performances will include works from renowned tango composers, including the legendary Astor Piazzolla.
“Tango Enigmático aims to share the love of tango with audiences everywhere,” the group says. Chloe Williamson, considered one of Australia’s top tango double bassists, has studied under world-renowned bassists and brings technical mastery and deep passion to the genre. Flora Wong adds her eclectic approach, seamlessly moving between contemporary tango and improvisation, while pianist Cara Tran’s experience spans festivals and prestigious orchestras both in Australia and abroad.
Audiences can expect an emotional journey as Tango Enigmático weaves a rich tapestry of passion, nostalgia, and even a touch of humour. The performances will transport listeners to the lively streets of Buenos Aires, connecting them to the universal soul of tango.
Tango Enigmático’s Sunshine Coast tour is presented by Red Chair, with support from Arts Queensland, Sunshine Coast Council’s Art and Heritage Levy, and the Regional Arts Development Fund.
