Nambour locals flocked to ‘The Other Hardware Store’ on Saturday to celebrate Sunshine Mitre 10’s first year of operation at the flagship store located at 980 Nambour Connection Rd, Nambour.

Crowds arrived early to join the festivities and community spirit was high. The first customers to arrive received a gift card. The many kids were kept happy with free balloons, face painting, birthday cake, fairy floss, and a sausage sizzle hosted by The Shack Community Centre. 300 lettuce seedlings were given to customers to help in these times of shortage; there were special offers active on the day.

As one of the largest independently owned and operated hardware suppliers in Queensland, Sunshine Mitre 10 has history in Nambour spanning over 110 years, when the business started as a sawmill owned by the Lanham family.

Sunshine Mitre 10 General Manager Neil Hutchins said this past year of operations had “exceeded expectations”, and that it was “great to see so many familiar faces from the Nambour community who had celebrated the Grand Opening a year ago, come through to celebrate our First Birthday.”

Mr Hutchins went on to say, “we’re thankful to be able to support the community that continues to support us.”

Marketing Operations Manager Nick Brind said “the support of the Nambour community has been overwhelming in our first year. It’s been exciting to be able to bring even bigger, new product categories to our customers.

“This new store has allowed us to engage more with local community groups by assisting with sponsorships, and community BBQ’s on weekends which help raise much needed funds for our local community.”

Mr Brind added, “it’s rewarding to continue the legacy of the Lanham family.”

Sunshine Mitre 10 is open 7 days a week at 980 Nambour Connection Rd for all your hardware, DIY and Garden needs.
