BOQ backs Nambour Show, strengthens community bonds

“Chapel of Angels” will be sold on or before auction on-site on June 17.

Nambour & Hinterland BOQ has recently become one of the major sponsors of the Sunshine Coast Show.

“It was a natural progression for us,” said Branch owner, Matt Wall. “The Show is such a great family event for the community and we felt it was a fitting way for us to give back to the community that supports us so well.

“Every year, our team enjoys attending the Show because there is always something for everyone.”

In recognition of this sponsorship, the hill at the Nambour Showgrounds is to be called ‘The BOQ Nambour and Hinterland Community Hill’. “We are thrilled that this part of the beautiful Nambour Showgrounds will be named in this way. It is fantastic to see families enjoying the food stalls and that part of the grounds in general, every year at the Show,” Matt said.

The Nambour & Hinterland BOQ has firmly cemented itself into the community, and both facilities and service have contributed to its success. “I think people are pleasantly surprised that we offer so many aspects of modern banking,” Matt said.

“But we are all about relationships and service, and that is what keeps people coming back. And there is a great security and peace of mind for our customers when they understand that we are here to stay. Our team will be attending the Sunshine Coast Show again this year, so make sure you drop in and say hello.”

President welcomes support

Sunshine Coast Show Society President, Rowan O’Hara was pleased to welcome the sponsorship from BOQ.

“What the branch is doing in the local community is really fantastic, they have fast become an important part of our community,” said Mr O’Hara.

“It’s because of our local sponsors that we are able to put on the Show and we value all of them. They allow us to grow and bring new offerings each year. Sunshine & Sons and Butler McDermott Lawyers are two of our other major sponsors.”

Fine and sunny weather predicted, great mix of entertainment

Last year, there were in excess of 6500 entries and with fine and sunny weather predicted, this year is shaping up to be another bumper year for the Show.

“As well as the regular favourites such as sideshow alley, the showbags and the exhibits in the pavilion, we are really getting into education around food and its production,” Mr O’Hara said.

“For example, this year there will be educational talks about beekeeping and backyard poultry care. We will also have visitors from Bird World in Maleny to educate people about birds. Keeping the attractions and entertainment fresh can be a challenge, but we are confident that we have got a terrific mix for visitors to this year’s Show.”

The Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show will be held on the 16th, 17th and 18th of June at the Nambour Showgrounds. You can purchase your early bird tickets now at www.sunshinecoastshow.com.au
