Sunshine Coast Hinterland; Come On Up

Next month Hinterland Tourism Sunshine Coast (HTSC) in partnership with Publisher Kerry Brown, will launch a new publication, Sunshine Coast Hinterland; Come On Up showcasing the region's beauty and diversity. Featuring a pull out regional map, an events calendar, travel tips, local stories, day trip itineraries and stunning images; the publication aims to attract more visitors to the Hinterland. 20,000 papers will circulate across Queensland and Northern New South Wales in major airports, visitor information centres, caravan parks, road houses, cafes, hotels and motels.Tourism is the major industry in the Hinterland and peak tourism association Hinterland Tourism Sunshine Coast (HTSC) is continually seeking opportunities to promote the region. The Gazette's Editor Kerry Brown suggested a working partnership to establish a print publication for broad distribution on a regular basis to attract more visitors to the region. HTSC President Christine Kardash said the idea appealed to the executive committee and we are looking forward to the first edition, "The Hinterland has so much to offer and people love the personal experience up here because we don't have many franchised businesses in the region," Ms Kardash said."We get the time to build relationships with visitors while they stay so when they come back it is like they are visiting an old friend. Come on Up gives Hinterland businesses the chance to share these unique experiences through stories and photos."Editor Kerry Brown said the map will feature in the centre pages and can be pulled out for convenience, "Renowned Swamp Cartoonist Gary Clark designed the map and he has done an awesome job," Ms Brown said."We can't wait to show the world how amazing the Hinterland is through a mix of print and online via the Hinterland Tourism website and facebook page. We have done a great deal of research to make sure the paper is circulated to target markets and advertising is affordable for the small business operators here in the Hinterland. These things matter, but so does working collaboratively with tourism operators and event managers to maximise the success of the paper. We can't wait to press the print button."Sunshine Coast Hinterland; Come On Up will hit the streets in early August. Hinterland Tourism members will receive significant advertising discounts, so if you are not a member now is the time to join, visit www.hinterlandtourism.com.au.
