Car Club to celebrate 60 years with 100 cars on display at anniversary

Sunshine Coast Antique Car Club members showcase a 1926 Essex Tourer at a recent event.

The popular Sunshine Coast Antique Car Club will celebrate its 60th Anniversary on February 19 from 9am to 12.30pm at the Nambour Showgrounds Trade Pavilions.

Secretary Ro Latham said the public was welcome to come and see a display of over 100 of members’ veteran, vintage and classic vehicles.

“There will be free parking on site and a coffee van will be available to sell patrons a great brew and a snack,” said Ro. “After the vehicle display in the morning, members are invited to celebrate this significant event with a light lunch and the launch of the publication of the Club’s 60 year history at the clubrooms.”

The SCACC is based in Nambour, with a branch at Bribie Island. It has clubrooms at  Nambour Showgrounds. The Club was formed in 1963 to foster and advance interest in the history, restoration, care and preservation of historic and classic motor vehicles. The club welcomes as members all those who are interested in the preservation of our motoring history. Generally, members own vehicles over 30 years old, but this is not a pre-requisite for membership.
