Sundale Community Foundation has launched another round of grants for charities operating in Nambour and surrounds, and they’re looking for applications.

Sundale Community Foundation is an extension of the aged care provider Sundale.

After 50 years serving the elders of the Sunshine Coast, Sundale gifted $1 million to set up the foundation.

That money was invested to generate income, and the foundation uses those profits to support community projects.

On top of the money generated by the Sundale nest egg, SCF has grant partnerships with Ken Mills Toyota and Sundale Limited, thankfully boosting their coffers in a year when the money market hasn’t come to the party.

“We’d love to attract more grants like those from Ken Mills and Sundale Ltd,” a spokesperson said. “Both organisations are huge supporters of Nambour.

“Businesses like working with Sundale Community Foundation because we do the hard work finding worthy projects in the area. I don’t know a community more deserving of support than Nambour.”

The 2020 grants round is officially open to registered charities and community groups.

“It doesn’t matter how big or small a project is, we might be able to help,” the spokesperson said.

SCF doesn’t ask organisations to jump through any major hoops: “Our grant criteria is very clear, just make sure you read the notes and tailor your application to meet the requirements.”

The 2019 round of grants bought new bibs, balls and hoops for netballers at Mapleton State School and we helped Nambour Community Centre lease a new car to carry out home visits, take vulnerable people to appointments and deliver food parcels.

A small grant allowed some Compass trainees to have fun on a school holiday program and bought new kits for the Nambour Wildcats soccer team.

The Ken Mills Toyota grant bought school shoes and uniforms for children in need, via St Vincent de Paul and thanks to Sundale Limited we gave almost $10,000 to Nambour Meals on Wheels to buy new fridges and improve food safety.

There was even some money for Spiral Inc to fund new art projects for locals with a disability.

“Money for charities like these has never been more important and we are so proud of the work we do,” the spokesperson said. There are hundreds of worthy projects in Nambour, we would love to hear about yours.”

Applications close at the end of August.
