Stranded tourists enjoy a Christmas round at Maleny Golf Club
A group of Japanese tourists who were unable to go home for Christmas due to Covid 19 have praised the hospitality of Maleny Golf Club.
The stranded golfers enjoyed a great day out on Christmas Day even though they weren’t too sure where the first few holes were due to the early morning fog.
Tourist Kay Kawaguchi appreciated the hospitality of Vice President Max Whitten and his wife Penny which they said “made our day”.
“We were grateful for the wonderful experience we were able to have on Christmas Day at Maleny Golf Club,” wrote Kay Kawaguchi.
“The Golf Club was truly royal and just stunning, that we easily fell in love.
“Although Covid has brought many obstacles in our lives, especially being separated from family and friends back in Japan, beautiful Christmas 2021 was something we could truly be thankful for.
“We will definitely be back to our favourite Golf Club.”
Dr Whitten said Maleny Golf Club was thrilled the guests enjoyed their Christmas round.
